Wrapping Up 2025 with Gratitude

WOW … what a ride 2025 was for all of us.

Last year carried the energy of the Snake, shedding old layers, releasing what no longer fit, and quietly making space.  

Now we move toward the swift, powerful energy of the Horse. I picture a strong thoroughbred running freely along a beach as the first light of day colors the sky.

Freedom. Momentum. Bold movement.

But at this moment, I find myself with headphones on, music playing, taking a deep breath, and reflecting with a full and grateful heart on what unfolded.

This was an intense year.

The year stretched me as a business owner, as a leader, and as a human being. As the world shifted and changed, I had to meet uncertainty head-on, repeatedly find my footing, and trust the process. Through it all, I was reminded just how deeply community matters.

One of my biggest chapters this year was completing the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses program. This meant 20 hours a week of meetings, coursework, and deep dives while still running a small business. Talk about getting uncomfortable.

It was demanding, transformative, and incredibly powerful. It pushed me to think differently. I learned to plan more intentionally and envision how The Floating Lotus can continue growing in a sustainable, aligned way.

And while I was immersed in that work, something incredibly meaningful happened at The Floating Lotus.

A Team That Stepped Up

Our team stepped up in ways that still move me, especially Liz Loftus, who truly rose to the occasion.

While I was visualizing the big picture and developing our future, our team:

• Supported one another
• Took on more responsibility
• Held steady space for our clients
• Ensured that The Floating Lotus continued to run with care and integrity.

That kind of support can’t be taught. It comes from heart, commitment, and shared values.

To The Floating Lotus staff: Your dedication, professionalism, and kindness did not go unnoticed. You are the foundation of this space, and I am deeply grateful for each and every one of you.

Welcoming New Wisdom

This year also brought the gift of Martha Richardson and her Iyengar Yoga teachings, adding new perspective and depth to our yoga offerings.

It has been such an honor to welcome Martha and her community into The Floating Lotus. Martha’s presence brings precision and mindfulness, reminding us that Yoga is a practice of both structure and self-awareness. Watching students slow down, explore alignment, and reconnect with the foundations of their practice has been truly special.

As we wrap up 2025, we do so immensely grateful for the lessons, challenges, growth, and support that sustained us.
