Mid-Year Self-Care Check-In
Can you believe we’re already halfway through the year? I blinked and July showed up — hot, humid, and reminding me that it’s time to do a check-in with myself. Maybe you’re feeling that too?
I sat down the other day and asked myself a simple question:
Am I taking care of me?
I don’t mean the “check your boxes” kind of care. I mean the real, soul-filling, body-nurturing, quiet-mind kind of care. The kind we know we need but let slide because life gets busy, messy, or full of everyone else’s needs.
And listen, I get it. We’ve all had seasons where we were pouring from an empty cup. we sometimes pretend it’s fine because we’re strong and capable and used to juggling all the things.
But strength isn’t the goal. Sustainability is.
So, consider this your gentle July check-in from me:
Are you on your own priority list?
If you haven’t been, that’s okay. This is not a guilt trip — it’s an invitation: To begin again. To shift. To take up space. To feel good.
Here are a few ways I’ve been resetting my self-care lately; in case you need a little inspiration:
- I’ve committed to my strength training — even if it’s just doing a few walking lunges around my house.
- I’ve been creating more space for time to roll out my mat — flowing in my own body and feeling everything that comes up.
- I’m keeping promises to myself — like my 10K steps a day. Not because I must, but because it’s how I show trust in myself.
- And I’ve been making space for quiet. Even if it’s five minutes in the bathroom with the door locked. (Yes, that counts.)
This isn’t about a perfect routine or some trendy version of wellness. It’s about tuning into what makes you feel alive, held, and whole.
So maybe your version of self-care this month is booking that facial you’ve been thinking about. Or saying no to something that doesn’t feel aligned. Or joining me for a class, a treatment, or just a moment of peace inside The Floating Lotus.
You’re allowed to come back to yourself, anytime.
With love and gentle nudges,
